Graeme Paton has joined Whitmill as Head of Digital Assets, based in Jersey.
Graeme will lead Whitmill’s work with tokenisation, virtual asset service providers and other digital asset businesses, working closely with our Corporate and Funds teams. His appointment reflects the needs of a sector that is now an established and growing part of the financial landscape, where clients need an administration partner that understands the individual client’s needs, the technology supporting that and the governance that sits around it.
Graeme is a Chartered Accountant with a Big Four background and more than 30 years’ experience in the offshore management and administration of complex corporate structures and transactions. He joins Whitmill from a Jersey-based fiduciary group where he was Director of Fund and Corporate Services and he has previously held a Senior Director role at an international professional services group.
Commenting on his appointment, Graeme said: “I am delighted to join Whitmill and to have the opportunity to shape our digital assets offering in Jersey. Throughout my career I have found that the strongest client relationships are built on attention to detail and a service tailored to each client’s needs - and that is exactly what Whitmill stands for. I look forward to working with clients who are building serious, well-governed businesses in the digital asset space.”
Ashley Cox, Group Managing Director, commented: “Digital assets are a natural step for Whitmill and Graeme brings exactly the experience and expertise we need to grow in this area. He understands how Jersey structures work at the most detailed level and the controls and governance needed and has spent his career building long-term relationships with international businesses. With Graeme leading our offering, clients can expect the same director-led, considered approach they receive across the rest of our business.”
