Whitmill is proud to announce that we have recently opened an office in the iconic Hoescht building in Porto, the second largest city in Portugal.
Porto is a major research and innovation centre, with a rapidly growing creative and technological sector, as well as being Portugal’s export hub. Porto is well placed to develop its ‘smart city’ aspirations; building on its existing portfolio of projects, the commitment of the municipality and its strengths as a centre for ‘start-up’ and ‘scale-up’ innovative businesses. The historic centre of Porto was classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 1996 and in 2016, the city of Porto ranked first on the “Smart City Index Portugal”. Porto perfectly marries its strong historical legacy with an innovative and forward thinking outlook.
Whitmill is represented locally by Jorge Macedo | Nuno Borges | Sergio Tormenta (‘JMNBST’), a Portuguese company providing audit, tax, accounting and consulting services. Whitmill Portugal, in association with JMNBST, is committed to the same philosophy, standards, technical knowledge and high levels of customer care. These combined synergies will provide the best service for the success of our existing and future clients.
In collaboration with Jorge Macedo and his partners, Whitmill Portugal will be able to offer additional services in various fields, such as: golden visas, bank account opening, local company incorporation, tax advice, accounting and audit etc.
Jorge Macedo is a director and treasurer of the Commercial Association of Porto, (ACP); “Palácio da Bolsa” of Porto (Stock Exchange), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Porto (CCIP) and of the Commercial Arbitration Institute. He is also a member of the Portuguese Tax Association, International Fiscal Association, the Economists Bar and of the Institute of Statutory Auditors.
