Jersey based trust company, Whitmill Trust Company have recently
announced their involvement in a range of exciting projects being
introduced by global Clean Tech information network UBrain TV.
Microenergy Holdings Limited is a Jersey registered Company
operated and administered by Whitmill Trust. This is the
first business introduced to Jersey by Ubrain Network which
Whitmill Trust is working alongside in an effort to bring Japanese
alternative energy technologies to Europe and particularly
Jersey.
A web TV and networking service, UbrainTV was established to
promote the development of Japanese green technologies offering the
potential to solve environmental and energy problems. One of the
key objectives of UbrainTV is to break down the barriers that exist
between Japan and the rest of the world to allow for productive
exchanges to take place.
In conjunction with the Isle of Man Government the inaugural
UbrainTV Energy Tech Awards 2011 took place in October 2011, and
along with a number of other award winners Micro Energy which built
and operates Japan's first commercial-scale biomass-to-liquid
plant, and the Municipal Government of Naka were presented the
first Isle of Man Cup - Kyoto Ashida Project Award in recognition
of an innovative environmental project utilizing innovative
technology in engaging a local community in pursuit of
sustainability.
As part of its drive to grow its Clean Tech sector, the Isle of
Man Government has entered into discussions with UBrainTV to
establish the first Clean Tech Centre which would showcase UBrainTV
energy technology award winners. Whitmill and UBrain Network
executives have also held discussions with the Economic Development
Department and Jersey Enterprise with a view to attracting more
Japanese Companies to diversify their business structure and
headquarter their businesses outside of Japan so as to benefit from
the geographical, political and economic stability offered here in
Jersey.
Partnerships such as this could potentially establish the
Islands as a Centre of Excellence, for Research and Development
where governments and businesses from around the world can
experience pioneering, sustainable technology and innovative
environmental projects in action.
In addition to this 2012 sets to be an exciting one for Micro
Energy as they have been asked to enter into feasibility studies
with a major international airline operator to supply bio-jet fuel
created from waste matter.
Discussing the innovative project opportunities Don Wijsmuller,
Managing Director at Whitmill, added "We are very excited about the
possibility of establishing the Island as a Clean Tech Centre,
along with the Isle of Man Jersey provides the ideal location for
leading businesses in this sector to showcase their work. We are
also looking forward to developing and strengthening the
relationship between the Channel Islands and Japan."
